About the program
The PE program aims to help students develop physically, mentally, and emotionally. The three focuses are cognitive (mental), psychomotor (physical), and affective (emotional). The program transitions from fitness base, to team building, then individual/team sports.
The PE MYP allows the students to assume more of a leadership role within the class. There are plenty of opportunities for the students to lead classes and activities in order for them to develop their leadership skills. Classes usually begin with the students leading all warmup activities as well as a student-led briefing before getting into the day's activities. The briefings generally cover how the learner profiles apply to the day's lesson while the debriefings, at the end of the class, covers how the students met the learner profiles.
